Listen to Albums
2026-05-14

There is no right way to listen to music. Someone that only listens to viral TikTok hits does not make them a worse listener than someone who listens to albums. However, sometimes you can find more joy listening to an album from beginning to the end.

The order of the songs and the shifting of moods can make the entire project feel like a story, they wouldn't sound as good if you just randomly picked a song from an album without listening to the rest of the tracks. Of course, not every good album needs a story but some of my favorite albums are like that.

Before recommending anything, if you have never listened to an entire album from your favorite artist, I urge you to do so! Pick a song you like, search for the album and listen to it. You might perceive that song differently after listening to the entire project and knowing the context behind it.

It wasn't until recent years that I started listening to albums, so the list is very modern and limited. I will be adding to the list as I discover more music.

Recently, one of the artist I listen to the most is Dean Blunt. His songs are experimental and are very unique.

Soul on Fire

Dean Blunt

Black metal 2

Dean Blunt

The first song in "Soul on Fire", "CHANCER" does not define the rest of the EP. It's a collab with "A$AP Rocky", which has nothing to do with Dean Blunt's vibes. The rest of the EP is very interesting.

"Black Metal 2" got released two years later and it definitely shows! I'm no producer but this album truly feels way more complete and magical than the previous one, I highly recommend using headphones.

Usually on Dean Blunt's projects you give your own meaning to the lyrics, it's very open to interpretation. Some of the songs sound simple and repetitive but the added details as the songs develop make almost every track amazing. I think this is specially the case with "Black Metal 2", you must have patience. It's like reading the slow part of a book so the climax hits harder, it's no different in albums!

Another one of my favorite albums is from DG

Crest

Bladee & Ecco2k

I think this album is the weirdest one they have ever released. I did not like it when I first listened to it, but now I truly appreciate how exotic it sounds. The lyrics are amazing and their vocals go very well with each song.

Suburban Daredevil is one of wifiskeleton's mixtapes, it's very fun to listen to. It made me wanna start producing music but then I realized that maybe I'm just made to listen to it. It's the easiest listen of the list.

Suburban Daredevil

Wifiskeleton

Two releases in Spanish I recommend.

epistolares +

Akrilla

#Tonyo4ever

Rojuu

The first of these is my favorite album in Spanish. It's divided into three parts, the second of these is my favorite one; It's very calm and magical. I recommend you to listen to it with the official music videos on Youtube.

#Tonyo4ever is a very recent EP from rojuu, he's one of the most dynamic artist I know. This release is very fun to listen to even though the lyrics are sad. I recommend you listen to many of the things this artist has released, you also never know what comes next.

The best recent UK artist to me is Fakemink

London's Saviour

Fakemink

This album is amazing, although it's full of samples, the way he uses them is truly unique. This album is experimental and it goes way beyond any typical rap album.

The people on the album cover are Fakemink and Noah Dillon from The Hellp. He had no idea who Fakemink was when they took the picture. Later on, Fakemink sampled "The hellp - caustic" for his single "Crush", an amazing song with an amazing sample. Noah then directed Fakemink's most recent music video fakemink - Night , Blooming Jasmine.. Crazy!

Finally, my two favorite albums are from the same artit, Jonatan Leandoer

Nectar

Jonatan Leandoer96

4Evight

Död Mark

The first time I fully listened to Nectar I thought I was hearing the voice of the rapper "Yung Lean", I couldn't believe a rapper released an album so radically different from what he usually did. To me, it's the best album ever. The contrast between the calm, detailed production compared to the unconventional singing of Yung Lean gives it a unique charm. In one interview Yung Lean said he would release a "Lil Wayne" type of music under another artist name, but it turned out to be completely different.

4evigt is another album from Yung Lean and Yung Gud under their band called "Död Mark". Sadly for me, the entire album is in Swedish so I have no clue of what he is singing about. Nevertheless, the production is amazing! My favorite song ever is in this album and it's called "Minnen Blir Till Ar".
